The HOT Show Band is a small selection of marching band members who make other performances for USF, when having the entire band in attendance isn't possible.  Often at the request of the University President this 27 member auditioned group performs at approximately 10 events per semester.  These events include the School of Music Taste of the Arts, local requests, USF Day in Tallahassee, and other events as requested by the university.  In order to be eligible for show band, students must be a member of marching band in fall, and basketball band in spring.  Members of Show Band receive a $750 stipend per semester.  

• Auditions will be held at the end of Pre-Season Camp for the fall term and at the end of the fall marching season for the spring term.

• Scholarship money is deposited directly into your USF account (on OASIS) mid-way through each semester once the majority of Show Band performances are completed.

• School of Music Taste of the Arts, Tampa Campus
• USF St. Petersburg Homecoming, St. Petersburg
• USF Lakeland Day, Lakeland
• Desoto USF Parade, Desoto County
• N.C.A.A. Tournament Site Selection at the St. Pete Times Forum, Tampa

Show Band Talent Grant Breakdown for Fall 2006 & Spring 2007

Fall term 2006:

• Show Band: $750   plus

  • Marching Band - First Year: $100   or
  • Marching Band - Veteran: $500   or
  • Marching Band - Officer: $600   equals  
• TOTAL:   up to $1,350 for fall term

Spring term 2007:

• Show Band: $750  plus

  • Pep Band: $200   equals
• TOTAL:   up to $950.00

  Up to $2,300 a year!
