2007 FIELD GUARD AUDITIONS:

We're glad you're interested in Fall Guard. Here are a few things about the audition you should know:

• You will be auditioning on flag only. Rifle and saber auditions will be held later.
• We will provide you with a 6 ft pole and flag.
• Previous flag experience is imperative for membership in the Field Guard. This includes the following advanced skills: drop spins, double fast, carves, tosses with various preps, and basic movement under the equipment. You will learn an "On the Spot" routine during auditions, which will include all the fundamentals on flag.
• Basic dance movements will also be a part of your audition.
• We ask that you wear form fitting clothing (preferably black) as it is most conducive to spinning.
• You should bring water and a healthy snack for endurance to the audition.

2007 DRUM LINE AUDITIONS:

The first audition camp for the 2007 USF Herd of Thunder Drumline will take place on May 5th from 10 AM to 2 PM at LIF 241 (Marching Band Building) on the main USF Tampa campus. Please download, print, and prepare the audition packet below. You will find exercises for each section (Snare, Tenor, Bass) as well as an explaination of each exercise. Individuals auditioning for cymbals will recieve information at the first camp. Please bring your own sticks or mallets to the audition, and feel free to bring your own drum if you'd like. Auditions will take place outside, so please dress appropriately.
